The story
Baloch women embroider the front panel, sleeves, cuffs and a large front pocket of the traditional dress with dense geometric needlework. The stitches are counted thread by thread, with no drawing on the cloth.
A fully embroidered dress is a serious piece of work. It can take many months of evenings and is often made for a wedding, then kept for years.

History
Embroidery is central to Baloch identity, and designs differ between tribes, families and areas. Mothers teach daughters, and the motifs carry names drawn from daily life.
How it’s made
A plain base cloth and bright silk or cotton threads.
The embroiderer counts threads to lay out the geometry by eye.
Dense stitches cover the front, pocket, sleeves and cuffs.
Some styles add small mirrors or contrasting borders.
Embroidered panels are sewn into the finished garment.
